Thanksgiving
2014 has been a very prosperous year for me as an Artist. I starred in two independent films, worked on a television show and I recently signed with an agent. I’m already thinking about next year; my goals and the things I would love to do and have.
At the same time, during this time of year, I must pause and reflect on all that I am thankful for. I am thankful for my friends and family and all of their continued support. In particular I am thankful for my friend, Jerris Madison. I have known him for more than 10 years. We began working together when I started pursing my acting and modeling career. Several of his photos are on my website. The more we worked together our friendship grew. I remember long ago he told me about his dream to start his own fashion magazine. That magazine, “Obvious Magazine,” is now poised to be distributed internationally. Jerris has always been an inspiration for me. When I learned that he was diagnosed with bone cancer, my heart went out for him, but Jerris did not let a diagnosis of cancer stop him. He continued to work until the time of his surgery and showed appreciation for the family and friends that came to see him.
As I drove from my Grandparents house on Thanksgiving Day and saw cars lined up in front of Target, I wondered “where is the Thankfulness?” Let this season really sink in with true meaning. Whether you are signed, Union, Non-Union, or just starting out, I am sure you have plenty to be thankful for.
